Uluwatu is the location of not only one of the worlds most famous surfing locations but also the Uluwatu Temple that was built to calm the ocean and ward off the evil spirits that were thought to reside on the island of Nusa Lembongan. This area is extremely beautiful due to its position on the very south western point of the Bukit Peninsula in the south of Bali. Troops of monkeys who inhabit the area are friendly and inquisitive, often hanging around the temple and create a truly eastern experience.
